Ministry of National Defense: Unafraid of Verbal Intimidation and Saber Rattling

Regarding People’s Republic of China Threatening to Sanction American Enterprises Selling Military Weapons and Equipment to Republic of China, Ministry of National Defense has stated today (13^th) that Republic of China and the United States of America are staunch allies, and that the latter continues to provide us with national defensive weapons on the basis of “Taiwan Relations Act” and “Six Assurances”, which helps with reinforcing the self-defense capability of Taiwan as well as maintaining regional peacefulness and stability.

Cross-strait stability is the foundation to regional peacefulness, and the Armed Forces strengthening the national defense capability, standing firm in the determination of self-defense, as well as constructing military forces and preparing for combats so as to protect the democracy and sovereignty of the country, which helps with the safety and stability of the Taiwan Strait and surrounding regions.

Ministry of National Defense emphasized that when faced with the constant “Verbal Intimidation and Saber Rattling” from the People’s Republic of China, the Republic of China Armed Forces will continue reinforcing critical defensive combat forces to ensure national security and protect the country, as well as guarantee that the achievement of freedom and democracy will not be violated.
